"The Gilded Lilies" Benefit for CCHR
September 12, 2015
On September 12, award-winning Ojai playwright Susan Kelejian and her theatre troupe, Equine Dell Arte (EDA), premiered her latest play, “The Gilded Lilies” at the Rescue. Guests enjoyed wine and hors d’oeuvres and were treated to a full cast reading of Susan’s sharp-witted and hilarious mash-up of Shakespeare’s “King Lear” meets a group of saloon gals from the Old West. The very talented ensemble of “The Gilded Lilies” are all professional actors, seen in TV, film, theater, stand-up and commercials. They all love horses, all can ride and all donated their time for our fund-raising event. Susan says: “I like to be philanthropic, so EDA donates all or a portion of the proceeds to the non-profits that have an equine focus, whether it’s a rescue or a service that it provides for the community.” A full-scale production of “The Gilded Lilies” is running now in Los Angeles. www.eqine-dell-arte.com.
