April 26th 2015 was a beautiful and sunny day at the CCHR ranch. A perfect backdrop for ASPCA National Help A Horse Day!
It was a day filled with activities and fun. horse groundwork demos, a farrier demonstration, painting mini Breyer horses and planting carrot seeds were just some of the activities that made up the day. CCHR friends, supporters and neighbors visited with the CCHR horses and learned about each of their life stories. The horses were so happy with all of the extra wonderful attention they received throughout the day. A very big thank you to everyone who donated to the silent auction, provided refreshments and those many others who lent their much-appreciated support to the event. Thank you so much to all of our friends and supporters who helped to make this day such a success! We appreciate your support. We look forward to seeing you at next year's National Help A Horse Day at CCHR! ![]() Go "Green" and help horses in need! This happy and fun-filled family event benefits California Coastal Horse Rescue. The festivities for the day will include wonderful equine riding demonstrations, an exciting fresh pie auction, food, shopping, games for all of the kids and more. All proceeds from the day go to provide much-needed funding for the CCHR horses and their care. Mark your calendars for May 3rd and we'll meet you at the Hoedown! (There are also several exciting sponsorship opportunities for this event that are available to individuals, families, clubs and businesses. For more information, please email Isaiah5258@aol.com). ![]() On Aug. 29, 2014, a beautiful new bench was dedicated at California Coastal Horse Rescue. Made from recycled wood from the CCHR ranch, the bench is sponsored by Michael Jackson's Legacy, an independent group of Michael Jackson fans who are committed to supporting compassionate good works and in making a positive difference in the world. Situated beside one of the horse pasture areas at the Rescue, this unique bench will allow visitors and volunteers to have a tranquil spot where they can sit and enjoy watching the horses as they are rehabilitated and enjoy their exercise times! We are so appreciative of the generosity of those MJL supporters who contributed to California Coastal Horse Rescue in order to be able to help the horses who have found sanctuary here. We are deeply touched by their kindness. Eighty supporters/groups from 19 countries which included: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Brazil, Canada, England, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, South Africa, Sweden and the USA, generously donated in order to sponsor a stall and pasture at CCHR.
Did you ever wonder why we have 3 horses in our logo? Well, they represent the three main goals of CCHR: Rescue, Rehabilitation and Refuge for horses in need (an additional 'R' goal that is not visible in the logo but very much part of CCHR stands for Re-Homing, as we strive to find new forever homes for horses).
But wait, there's more... Maybe you can't quite see them in the logo, but standing behind these three equine symbols of hope is ... you (there is an awful lot going on in such a little square!). THANK YOU to all of our friends, volunteers and supporters for their continuing support of the horses who have found aid and sanctuary through CCHR. ![]() Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. In fact, it's the only thing that ever has. ~Margaret Mead The students of the 3rd grade classes from Washington School in Santa Barbara have certainly illustrated Margaret Mead's quote with their incredibly thoughtful commitment to the horses of CCHR... These children chose to make CCHR the beneficiary of their community outreach project and through working and selling items from their school store they raised an incredible $1000.00 for the horses of CCHR! Amazing! On May 23, 2014, the horses of CCHR sent two human representatives on their behalf to say thank you (and bring cookies!) to this great group of animal advocates. THANK YOU students for your hard work and commitment to this project. You have indeed helped to make a difference in the "world" of the CCHR horses... |
